Cat Eye Problems Pupil

What could this cat’s eye color be or mean?
I was visiting my local SPCA adoption shelter and there was a new ‘bush’ kitten brought in the day before; he is an average light orange tabby kitten. This kitten’s eyes are unusually colored though his irises are a normal gold/orange color, but the pupil and surrounding cornea has a blueish tint to it. It looks a bit like cataracts but instead of being concentrated and milky looking the blue is all over, even, and incredibly light almost giving the whole eye a very light cobalt tint. The kitten doesn’t appear to be blind either, he follows moving objects well and has no problems getting around. I am just curious what this odd blue haze look could be? I’ve seen many cats in my life but I’ve never seen this specific look.
How old was it? ALL kittens are born with blue eyes and the eyes gradually change to the adult colour up till about three or four months. You’re probably just seeing eyes in transition.
