Dry Eye Yorkshire Terriers
Yorkshire Terrier becoming a bit overweight…?
I have a beautiful 5 year old yorkie and I have fed her nothing but Eukanuba or NutroMax dog food her entire life. She has always been a VERY picky eater so I switch up with the flavors of the food in order to get her to eat. A few months ago she stopped eating altogether. She would walk over to her bowl, sniff, and then walk away. My hubby started buying wet food (after we were sure it did not have rat poisoning) and mixing a little in with her dry food. This worked like a charm. Now she eats everything in her bowl in one sitting and begs to eat all day. I recently noticed that she looks a little wider and feels a little heavier. We only feed her twice a day like the doctor told us to but it makes me sad to see her sitting beside her bowl and staring at me with those sad eyes. She is not pregnant, just greedy. Any alternative foods I can feed a picky eater without mixing in wet? Anyone experiencing anything similar with their dog?
Cut back the amount you’re feeding her and start reducing the amount of wet food you’re mixing in, until it’s all dry kibble again – Wet food is VERY fattening and she doesn’t need anything more than dry kibble.
Tough cookies if she doesn’t like her food without the wet in it, a hungry dog will eat when it’s hungry enough, just don’t give in or feel sorry for her!
