Eye Problem Doctors

are regular eye doctors specialists or primary care doctors?
I need new glasses, but I don’t have any wierd eye problems, i just need a regular eye doctor who can give me an exam and get me new glasses. but on my insurance provider search website, i have to list what specialty they have (so i put ophthalmologist) and then it asks what type of doctor they are and the options are primary care, specialist, pharmacy, hospital or ancillaries. which one is a regular eye doctor?
An ophthalmologist is a specialist. You should also find out if you have routine vision care which would cover your optometrist, which is a different kind of doctor, and what you most likely need.
