Eye Problems Symptoms
my dog’s eye problem/symptoms. what’s wrong with him?
I’ve noticed that the he sleeps a lot than usual these past few days.
He’d wake up with his eyes red. Sometimes they’re watery and have yellowish discharge. Worst thing I’ve noticed in his right eye is, his iris is positioned at the right side instead of the usual center.
I checked on him earlier this evening and ive noticed he was Squinting, blinking, holding the eye closed =( what’s wrong with him. Is this a cold/flu symptom or something much more serious?
any thing I could do while am still observing him? first aid? antibiotic?
As much as I would like to bring him to a vet, he’s not the kind of dog that we can carry or put on a leash. –i know it could be a form of infection, that’s why am hoping there are experts here who could tell me what to do. –answers would be very much appreciated.
conjunctivitis .A eye infection the fact that the dog has a yellow discharge means there is a infection. Needs antibiotic drops from the vets. He could have something lodged in his eye try to look in his eye and see if something is there. If so you can wash his eye out with saline solution.
An approach you can try at home is to clean the discharge from your dog’s eyelids. Wet a soft, clean cloth or cotton ball with lukewarm water, squeeze it out and gently wipe away the discharge from around each eye that is affected. Repeat twice a day or as often as needed. Apply a compress. Covering your dogs’s eyes with a damp, warm compress can be soothing. Apply for 5 minutes
