Antioxidants have one major job in the human body and several small ones, depending on the organ we are discussing. In this case it is the eyes so we will say to antioxidants strengthen your eyes defenses against virus, bacteria and disease coming from the outside. The presence of Lutein and Omega-3 amino acids in the eyes prevents disease to slip in through damaged or scarred tissues.
common eye problems are:
1-Age-related Macular Degeneration is one of the main cause of eye vision loss in people over the age of 60. This disease slowly develops and thus the patient does not notice that their vision changes.
2-Amblyopia is also called ‘lazy eye’. The part of the brain connected to the affected eye is not properly stimulated and develops abnormally.
3-Cataract happens when the normally transparent lens inside the eye becomes clouded or opaque. The normal aging process hardens the lens and contribute to the development of cataract.
4-Dry Eye (Computer Vision Syndrome) is an eye condition where there is inadequate lubrication in the eye and is now becoming widespread with the prolong use of computers.
The study done by the University of Hong Kong consists of several rats being fed green tea overtime. Although the form of the tea – either in pill or liquid – isn’t known, the antioxidant compounds in it appeared to reduce the oxidative stress in the rats’ eyes during a period of 20 hours after consumption.
Cures or treatments of glaucoma eye disease consist of medication to reduce the tension in the eye and/or draining the fluid from the eyes. However, there are steps you can take yourself to cure the ailment by learning how to relax your eyes and remove the stress which is the main cause of the glaucoma.
Calcarea carbonicum, once per day for three days is suggested by homeopathy doctors to treat conjunctivitis for infants who suffer from other problems like seating and constipation.
If you have age related macular degeneration (AMD) you need to increase your fish oil dosage by eating oily fish at least two times a week to keep your eye disease in check according to new research. It’s the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish like mackerel or salmon that slow (maybe even halt) the progress of both the early and later stages of the sight stealing disease.
Omega-3 fatty acids are contained in RPE cells which are vitally important for the survival of photoreceptor cells. Eye diseases which can cause blindness lead the photoreceptor cells to degenerate and die.
Remedies for eye diseases:
Vitamins A, B and C are essential for eye care. Carrots, celery, parsley, spinach, etc., contain very much vitamin A.
Sleeping 8-10 hours is absolutely essential for healthy eyes.
Eye care: eye sprayed with cold water. Apply the cotton swabs soaked in warm milk or weak solution of tea or rose water. Leave to act for 10-15 minutes.
Maintaining eye health requires people to take proper nutrients. And it is also important to point out that different beneficial substances included in various foods are suitable for the prevention of specific eye diseases.
