Pink Eye Swimming

How to know if you have pink eye.. what to do about swimming/school tomorrow?
I posted a question about my eye earlier and some people have been saying it’s pink eye.
My mom won’t believe me if I say I might have it she will just think I’m trying to get out of going to school (and nothing will change that)….
If it IS pink eye its supposed to be really contagious, right, so I don’t want to have someone else get it…
Also, even if it isn’t, I have swimming tomorrow for PE and I didn’t swim last week so I have to this week and I really don’t think that getting into a pool is a good idea for my eye.
I do want to go to school tomorrow… I have to do a presentation…
How do I know if I have pink eye or not?
pink eye is caused by either a bacterium or a virus.
both will cause your eye to weep out mucus or pus. sometimes when you wake up from sleep, your eye will be stuck shut with mucus.
your eye will get extremeley red (“pink”), really really red and you will see tons of red blood vessels all over the normally white part of your eye (sclera).
in addition, your affected eye will only be able to open half as wide as your normal eye, even if you try really hard.
in full-blown pinkeye, you should be really having a truly red, droopy eye with lots of mucus every few minutes.
you need to see a doctor to get it treated. swimming sounds bad for it, and you don’t want to risk others getting it from you.
presentation sounds fine, as long as you wash your hands often and don’t touch your eye or other people.
