This has CONSUMED me. I’m always thinking about whether people are looking at me or not?
I have no idea why. Whenever I am in public, I become so occupied with thoughts wondering if people are looking at me and judging whether I’m good looking or not. It’s beginning to take over me and make me feel like crap. I feel so exposed in public.
I’ll be at the shops, on the bus, even studying at the library and I’ll be thinking about it, and I always try to convince myself that no one is looking at me! Why would people care or be so occupied with me anyway? If I’m studying at the library and writing something, I can’t focus, because I’m wondering if people over my shoulder are watching me. I also always check to see if people are looking at me. If I’m walking past people, without looking at them, I try to make out if people are looking at me with my peripheral vision.
Why am I like this? What could have possibly led me to become this insecure and uncomfortable? I really can’t pinpoint anything. How can I stop this compulsive, occupying thoughts? I’m a 17 yo female.
I did feel the same way but i tried to not think about it. It’s like if you fall or trip or something like that, it’s alright because no one knows you and won’t laugh even though you think they will. There is nothing wrong with you because after a while you should get out of a habit of thinking about it because its a waste of time and it does distract you. If someone is looking at you and following you or something then that’s their problem not yours.
