Vision Care Medicaid

Do you think I might be eligible for this Medicaid plan?

I’m 22. When I was 9, I was diagnosed with dermatomyositis. Although my body responded well with the treatment, the disease is in remission, and it can come back at any time. Even now, my muscles are still pretty weak and I get tired a lot. Also, I’ve had vision problems since I was 1, and my vision just keeps getting worse. I cannot afford healthcare, I only make $350/week.

Disabled Adult Children (DAC)

A person who had a disability or blindness that began before age 22 may be eligible to receive Medicaid benefits in his adult years. He must also be receiving DAC benefits from Social Security. Most beneficiaries are enrolled in a Medicaid health plan and receive a comprehensive package of health care benefits including vision, dental, and mental health services. Contact the local MDHS office in your county to apply for this program.

You better apply ASAP.

No one here is going to really know if you qualify. Contact Social Security and apply for SSI. I think you can apply on line now. The link is below.

Good Luck.
